In 2010, the UC Irvine School of Medicine was the first medical school in the US to implement a fully digital, iPad-based curriculum. Branded as “iMedEd,” the curriculum began to mature from digital notes and textbooks to a full “reboot” of medical education at UC Irvine where active learning, student engagement, and innovation became the new framework for training medical students.
