Help Make Student Thinking Visible with Explain Everything

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Inspired by Harvard's ProjectZERO's Making Thinking Visible (MTV), Understanding by Design (UbD), and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), this project integrates ways to encourage and help diverse learners make their understanding of material covered in class more visible to the teacher. It's hard to individually assess the process of thinking and reading closely when a lot of thinking happens in the head and reading closely happens without a teacher watching over the student's shoulder; however, all that has changed with the powerful app ExplainEverything! This lecture will introduce you to an innovative approach to helping your students make their thinking visible to you and to their peers. You will learn how to design, instruct, implement, and assess a project for any age group in any discipline. This exciting project and powerful app will help you become a stronger teacher as you will be armed with an ability to fairly assess diverse students, provide appropriate feedback, and improve your lessons as you move forward to reinforce necessary twenty-first century skills in your students.
